To ensure sustainable development for increasing population with growth rate of almost 3 humans every second the energy supply must be secured. The greatest source of energy for the future is continuing to use it more efficiently. In last 20 years global energy savings were equivalent to more than 25 years of primary energy consumption in the U.S. Without further actions, the global energy deficit will account for about 15-20% by 2035.
Thus, in order to contribute to such behavioural advancement and considering sustainable architecture as architecture on the edge or even beyond design, I have initiated and founded the International Conference with Exhibition S.ARCH. Here, the accent is on the architectural quality demonstrating different approaches of relations between good architecture and environment, without focusing only on technical aspects of building. So, the sustainability and great design do not exclude each other in the process of creating green buildings.
Thus, the sustainable architecture and building should be indispensable to minimise this lack, as in Germany for example, buildings account for roughly 30% of the consumed resources. In this regard the public must be aware of that importance challenging green real estate.
Latest design standards and techniques may provide excellence in design alongside the sustainable architecture. Hence, everyone involved has to be a little bit more creative and mindful, as well as more active.
So, besides other activities, it’s time for new ways of doing architecture in order to shift the priorities that dramatically affect our environment.
Each of last three decades has been successively warmer at the Earth’s surface than any preceding decade since 1850. In the Northern Hemisphere, the last 30-year period was likely the warmest one of the last 1,400 years.
As reported on the 12th Session of Working Group I on Climate Changes, held on 23-26 September 2013 in Stockholm, human influence is evident in warming of the atmosphere and the ocean, in changes in the global water cycle, in reductions in snow and ice, in sea level rise, and in changes in some climate extremes. Human influence has been the dominant cause of the warming since the mid-20th century.
All these, despite all climate negotiations !!!
Bottom Line
The atmospheric concentrations of greenhouse gases have increase to levels unprecedented in at least the last 800,000 years. CO2 concentrations have increased by 40% since pre-industrial times.

The architects who start the process are in the position to initiate and promote such behaviour.
Leitmotif
This has not only positive micro effect on the residents, but also macro effect on the national economy, as well as on the climate reducing the global warming.
